Online Psychiatry

In our current climate, virtual mental health treatment has become extremely popular and useful.

We offer psychiatry services via telehealth, which is a safe and secure method of meeting with a professional virtually. It gives you an opportunity to safely and comfortably meet with a therapist or psychiatric specialist to get mental health treatment at a safe and comfortable distance. Seeking help to support your mental health can be intimidating and for most, walking into uncharted territory. Being able to seek that help from the comfort of wherever you choose can ease some of that hesitation.

In these online appointments, you are able to meet face-to-face with your mental health care provider; to be evaluated, diagnosed, and then prescribed whatever medication is the best fit for your situation. In addition to your online appointment, you are also able to request and book your consultation virtually, as well as scheduling your appointments online through our online scheduling option.

We aim to make it as easy and accessible as possible for you to receive the help you need.

Medication Treatment Options

If you are already under the care of a primary care physician or other health care provider, you may already have received a diagnosis and been prescribed medication. However, if you are under the care of a healthcare provider and you are experiencing mental health challenges that have not yet been diagnosed, they may recommend you seek the help of a mental health professional. If referred to us, you can book an appointment with our psychiatric nurse on staff who will be able to give you the appropriate course of treatment.

If you are experiencing mental health challenges and need to be prescribed medication for those, there are an array of options that we can provide at Insight Northwest Counseling.

Some of those medications include:

  • Anti-depressants

  • Anti-anxiety medications

  • Holistic Approaches utilizing supplements and amino acids

  • Sleep aids

  • Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

  • Anti-psychotic medications

We have the ability and resources to evaluate your symptoms and circumstances, give you a proper diagnosis and prescribe the best medication for you. We understand and acknowledge that mental health medication treatment is not the same for all. What works for you is specific to your situation and won’t necessarily work the same for someone else. Which is why medication management can be a process. In certain cases, it can be a process of trial and error before finding the medication that works most effectively for you. We aim to find medications that give you the most benefit and symptom management, while freeing you of any extreme side effects that negatively impact your life. While side effects can and should be managed with proper medication treatment, there are side effects that can happen with mental health medications and it is important to know what those are in order to be prepared and educated going into the process.

Common side effects of mental health and addiction medication include:

  • Drowsiness

  • Dizziness

  • Restlessness

  • Anxiety

  • Sadness

  • Dry mouth

  • Weight loss

  • Weight gain

  • Nausea

  • Constipation

  • Vomiting

All of these symptoms fall within the “normal” range of side effects and are not cause for alarm. There are, however, more serious side effects that should be addressed more seriously such as worsening depression, panic attacks, and thoughts of suicide. If you begin taking a medication and your symptoms worsen significantly, you should call us as soon as possible to discuss other options.

The Process of Medication Treatment

Seeking help for your mental health or substance abuse challenges can be overwhelming. Sometimes just knowing what to expect can make that process easier and more manageable. It is important to know that you can handle some of this process online through our website. You are able to easily book a consultation and make appointments through our website. In addition, we are available by phone to manage all of your needs and appointments. You can request an appointment, schedule an appointment and ask any other questions by calling our office phone 541-357-9433. We are ready to answer your questions, assess your needs and help you with the next steps in your journey to health and wellness.

The process of starting treatment through us beyond scheduling appointments include filling out intake forms and a pre-appointment questionnaire to further assess what you’re experiencing to help us give you the best possible care we can. This process is straightforward, simple and manageable.

It’s important to know that while most insurance companies cover some or all of your psychiatric care, there are insurances providers that do not. At Insight Northwest Counseling we prioritize your care and solely focus on providing you with the best care possible. We are an out-of-network practice, we do not bill insurance directly. We can simply provide you with a “superbill” or an insurance invoice document which you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

Psychiatric care and achieving mental wellness is crucial, and we want to make it accessible to all no matter the financial situation.

Areas We Offer Medication Management Include

Our Approach to Psychiatry

Medication treatment can often come with a myriad of stigmas and misunderstanding. Many feel an aversion to being treated for their mental health, which can often keep them from getting the help they need. There also can often be a desire to hide their medication treatment, as to avoid the misunderstanding and judgement. While we very much understand this struggle, we encourage you to view medication treatment as a common treatment, that is just as crucial and “normal” as using medication or treatment for any other physical ailment.

At Insight Northwest, we aim to destigmatize mental health, addiction and recovery, and make healing from those things as smooth and peaceful for our patients as possible. You can find great care and sensitivity from our entire team and our treatment process.

We want to collaborate with you to find the treatment plan that best suits you and your situation.

We want you to walk away from your appointments with us feeling heard, understood, and healthier than when you started.
